A través del blog Distractify viajamos hasta Japón, concretamente hasta Shintomi, en la prefectura de Miyazaki. Allí es donde viven el señor y la señora Kuroki, dos granjeros de avanzada edad, rodeados de un océano de flores rosas que atrae a más de 7.000 visitantes cada año. No es un espacio público, sino el jardín de su domicilio particular. Una preciosa alfombra que el señor Kuroki decidió elaborar cuando la ceguera, además de robar la vista a su esposa, le dejó también sin sonrisa.

El señor Kuroki no podía soportar ver el sufrimiento de su amada y comenzó a cavilar, buscando maneras de animarla. Fue así como apareció en su mente uno de los regalos que todo enamorado ha hecho alguna vez: flores. Pero Kuroki sabía que no bastaría un ramo. Necesitaría muchas, muchísimas flores.
Kuroki empezó a plantar semillas de ‘shibazakura’, una especie marcadamente aromática. Pronto comprobó que el olor de las flores atraía a su esposa hacia el exterior y se afanó en su tarea: no paró de trabajar durante dos años, hasta cubrir totalmente de rosa su jardín. Y así es como ha logrado sacar de la depresión y del encierro al amor de su vida, que como puedes observar en las imágenes vuelve a sonreír a diario. Desde luego, le sobran motivos para hacerlo.
